Joseph Brugnoli

Joseph Brugnoli is an attorney at Grabel & Associates who brings a multifaceted approach his work due to his previous experience in the United States Military, local police, and county prosecutor’s office. During his time as a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Brugnoli has represented clients facing charges such as:

Mr. Brugnoli first learned the importance of organization and attention to detail upon enlisting for the United States Army. He pushed himself to the point of graduating from the prestigious Army Ranger school. After his time in the Army, Mr. Brugnoli worked in law enforcement as both a uniformed officer and an undercover investigator. His Army experience and skill led him to the position of entry operator and sniper for the Oakland County SWAT Team. Mr. Brugnoli’s intimate knowledge of how police are trained to conduct their investigations have helped many of his clients in defending a wide variety of criminal charges.

Mr. Brugnoli joined Grabel & Associates in 2017 after spending the previous four years representing clients in criminal court as a defense attorney. He started his career as a solo practitioner, and then later teamed up with other attorneys to be part of a firm. Mr. Brugnoli’s initial interactions with the criminal justice system from the attorney side came as a prosecutor’s intern in Macomb County. As an intern, Mr. Brugnoli studied how prosecutors built their criminal cases from police investigations. He has spent countless hours breaking down every step of a proper drunk driving investigation. With this knowledge, he has helped pick apart drunk driving cases to help his clients succeed. His unique combination of experiences in law enforcement has helped lead to countless successes for his clients at Grabel & Associates.

Mr. Brugnoli is a Pennsylvania native. He graduated from high school in 1996 and immediately enlisted for the United States Army. During active duty, Mr. Brugnoli served a two-year deployment in Iraq. He earned many accolades in the army, including a Combat Infantryman’s Badge. In his post-military life, Mr. Brugnoli graduated from Michigan State University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He then pursued his law degree Thomas M. Cooley Law School and graduated from there. Mr. Brugnoli started his legal career in 2013 after he passed the Michigan bar exam and was afterwards admitted to the state bar of Michigan.

When he is not in the courtroom, Mr. Brugnoli enjoys being a handyman around the house and spending time with his friends and family.
